Is Education Really Important?

It is a question that most adults don’t think about.

It is a question that most adults don’t think about. We assume that education is important, and it is something that we were always told as a child. We were told that it is important to get an education so that we could get a good job and be successful in life. Most of us have passed this way of thinking down to our children without ever really considering why it is important to be educated. Education comes in many ways, the most common way that folks consider is inside of a school building. While that is a very important part of the educational process, learning can’t be confined to those walls. When we are thinking about the importance of education, we need to consider its overall value to a person’s well-being and their future endeavors.

Education improves a person’s self-confidence.

A high level of self-confidence is an essential component for achieving success in life. And one of the best ways to gain that confidence is to have a solid educational foundation. A person’s level of education is considered an effective indicator of their knowledge, and it can provide a foundation for expressing one’s opinions and speaking their mind.

Education can provide a level of protection.

Education can prove more valuable than people believe that it does on both a personal and professional level. It can help prevent one from being taken advantage of by having knowledge of how to read and write. It helps give one the knowledge that they need to avoid being the victim of scams or signing fraudulent documents.

Education has been proven to increase one’s health.

With an increased education, we can not only understand the best way to take care of ourselves, but we can feel confident and good about ourselves. This will likely have a favorable influence on our physical health. Education has been found to have added years to our lives. To be specific, each additional year of education has been found to add about 1.7 years to our life span at age 35.

Education adds value to a person’s life by helping them prepare for their future endeavors.

Education adds value to a person’s life by helping them to prepare for their future endeavors. When it comes time to determine a career path, whether it is skill based or knowledge based, education is needed. For careers that are more hands on, there is training that is needed. This training could be based upon specialized equipment that a person needs to operate or a program that a person needs to be able to run. If you look at positions that require advanced college degrees such as being a doctor, there is a whole host of learning that needs to take place in order for you to be prepared. Without these forms of education, it would be impossible to be prepared and to be successful.

There are also social benefits and benefits for a society as a whole from education. The important part of education is finding a place or a space where a person can be educated in a way that meets their needs. If any educational program is not tailored, it will be difficult for students to see its benefit. The challenge right now for the American public school system is figuring out a way to do this, figuring out a way for education to be a custom fit for students to increase attendance and interest in the system as a whole.

Without holistic change, the American public school system will unfortunately continue to struggle to meet the needs of students and families. The system itself has to be open to tearing down all traditional ways of thinking and exploring brand new and radical ideas.
